learning the basics
It's never too early to start Halter Training your foal. Of course, the technique used depends on the age of the young horse. For instance, the lessons learned as a newborn foal, build the necessary trust for not only future lessons and hoof trimmings, but, if the need arose, the ability to "doctor" a wound. Normally, at 1-2 years of age, it's time to provide a more advanced Halter Training that lays the foundation for everything that is to follow. This all important ground work is what gives your horse the solid start in building confidence in humans and himself he'll need to be the willing partner that we all want.

With this training, I'll help your horse learn to use the
"left" side of his brain - how to think and figure things out.
Even things as basic as how to move their feet properly must be
learned. Backing correctly and Side Passing are not natural
movements and must also be learned. Using the techniques
and philosophy of Natural Horsemanship, I'll give your young
horse the foundation he needs for the next big step
- Colt Starting Under Saddle.
